2015 Primary offers up choices in three Republican races

Only three Republican nominations are contested in today’s primary election.

In Jasper, voters will have to choose between two Republican nominations for mayor, incumbent Mayor Terry Seitz and challenger Steve Messmer; and two Republican nominations for Common Council representing District 3, John Bell and Scott Blazey.

In Huntingburg, Jeff Bounds has challenged incumbent Alex Blackgrove for the Republican nomination for Precinct 2.

Today’s primary decides which Republican candidate will be on the ticket in the fall election.

The polls for Tuesday’s primary will open at 6 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Registered voters must bring a photo ID with them to cast a ballot.

The precincts and voting locations are have changed a bit this year. Check below for your polling location.

Bainbridge 2E, 2W, 3E, 3W: National Guard Armory
Bainbridge 1.1, 4N and 4S: Jasper Community Arts Center
Bainbridge 5N, 5S, 6N and 6S and Boone-Jasper: Jasper Middle School
Madison-Jasper North and South: St. Mary’s Community Center, Ireland
Patoka 2: Huntingburg Event Center

  1. It was so nice to vote in the Jasper Community Arts Center today. The setup was just great! Parking, which was a problem in my past voting place, was greatly improved. I was in and out within minutes. Congrats to all who made this happen.
