    Strassenfest 2025 opened Thursday with a ceremony steeped in the German roots of the city and wrapped in unusually cool weather for the typically dog days of summer. Jasper Mayor Dean Vonderheide and Pfaffenweiler Mayor Lukas Mahler lit the ceremonial lantern together before offering brief remarks to begin the festival celebrating the two cities’ connections….

    The Jasper Park and Recreation Department kicked off the summer activities with Tuesday Kickball at Bohnert Park today. Games are held every Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. until July 22. Here are a few photos from today’s games.

  • Jasper’s new pool opens

    The new Jasper Municipal Pool opened for the first time Saturday at noon. The cooler weather may have slowed the crowds, but according to Parks Director Tom Moorman, this allowed the department to ease into the new routines at the greatly expanded complex.
