Woman’s body found in White River

Update:

Indiana Conservation Officers located a female body believed to be Lianne Wiscaver, 55, of Washington, this morning at approximately 8:30 a.m.

The body was found in the East Fork of the White River about a half mile downstream from the Highway 257 Bridge on the Pike County/Daviess County Line.

Wiscaver had been missing since Thursday evening around 5:15 pm.

An autopsy is scheduled for later today.[hr]

Conservation officers are continuing the search for a woman presumed to have jumped from the Capehart Bridge on the White River Thursday.

Officers plan on continuing the search of the river bank and dragging the river bottom. A boat with side-scanning sonar is also being used today and divers are on site.

Indiana Conservation Officers are searching the East Fork of the White River near the Highway 257 Capehart Bridge for a missing woman presumed to have jumped from the bridge.

At approximately 5:15 pm Pike County Dispatch received a 911 call from a concerned motorist. The motorist had passed a woman standing on the bridge but when they returned to check on her, she was gone. There was a car parked on the south side of the bridge belonging to Lianne Wiscaver, 55, of Washington who has not been seen or heard from since this afternoon.

Conservation Officers have conducted bank searches and have been using dragging equipment in efforts to locate Wiscaver. Search efforts have been suspended for the night and will begin again at daylight tomorrow.

Responding agencies included the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, Daviess County Sheriffs Department, Indiana State Police, Jefferson Township Fire Department, Harrison Township Fire Department, Southwest Medical, Pike County EMS and Indiana Conservation Officers.
