Wanda M. Richardt, 95
Wanda M. Richardt, age 95, of Huntingburg, passed away at 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
She was born in Cherokee, Iowa on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1917, to Raymond and Hettie (Ranson) Goodson.
She was united in marriage to John J. Richardt on September 16, 1936.
Wanda worked as a nanny and housekeeper in Chicago for various families. After her marriage, in addition to her work as a homemaker, she worked at General Electric in Tell City and then later at DMI in Huntingburg and Jasper Desk.
Since 1969, Wanda has been a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. Her interests included: knitting, crocheting and embroidering; reading; gardening; and baking – her specialties were Hartshorne cookies at Christmas and creampies with meringue.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, John J. Richardt, who died June 28, 1980; three sisters and two brother-in-laws – Edith (Elmer) Myer, Opal (Joe) Reber, and Hilda Goodson; and one brother and one sister-in-law, Charles (Carol) Goodson.

The funeral liturgy for Wanda M. Richardt will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Troy, Indiana.
Friends may call for visitation and celebration of Wanda’s life at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday, August 16th. My deepest sympathies. It’s not often we see such a heart-rending sight, a loving son who long ago sacrificed all natural ties to his mother for the sake of the kingdom, who made any future support corband for sake of his vows come back for one hour of prayer to pay her his last respects in such public fashion. It’s so touching to see such a public show of sweet and sincere sentiment. We don’t often see that these days where there is nothing to be gained. May flights of angels speed you to the place God prepares for such as this.
