VUJC groundbreaking ceremony Thursday October 27
Vincennes University will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the newest addition to the Jasper Campus on Thursday, October 27 at 11:00 a.m.
The Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center will add over 57,000 square feet of laboratories and classroom space that will be devoted to programming in technologies needed for workers to succeed in the modern workforce.
“This facility will allow us to offer education and training that will help manufacturers fill critical skills needs in their workforce,” said Alan Johnson, Dean of the Jasper Campus. “The programming in this facility will be a key factor in retaining jobs and growing the regional economy.”
The groundbreaking will take place at the construction site on the west side of the campus.
“We’re planning an event that will take a creative approach to breaking the ground. This is about the future of our region, and that future demands flexibility and creative approaches to problem solving,” said Johnson. “Weather permitting, we’re inviting people to come play in the dirt with us.”
I am going to try to make this important event if at all possible. I am in Evansville for two days and do know if I will be back in Dubois county on time. Best wishes for a fun "play in the dirt" celebration.
And where will these people work when finished with retraining? On and on it goes! Oh well just the progressive way in AMERICA!!!
