VUJC dean candidates to take part in public forums in July

One of the candidates has withdrawn due to having been promoted by his current employer.
Nathanial Slaton’s withdrawal means the public forum scheduled for Tuesday, July 14 is cancelled.

The public will have a chance to meet the three two candidates for dean of Vincennes University Jasper Campus.
One of the three candidates will replace Dr. Alan Johnson who announced his retirement earlier this year after leading the school for the past nine years. He had planned on retiring in June but agreed to stay on until a replacement was found.
The university has scheduled three public meetings to be held at the VUJC Center for Technology, Innovation and Manufacturing, Room 141.
The three candidates are John Berry, Nathanial Slaton and Chris Gray.
Berry has a doctorate of philosophy in higher education administration through Ohio State University. He has a masters in education and student personnel administration through Southern Illinois University. Most recently he served as vice president for student services and student development at Cape Fear Community College. Wilmington, N.C. Prior to that he was dean of students and director of student affairs at Ohio State University at Newark (Ohio State Newark) and Central Ohio Technical College (COTC). The public forum for Berry will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 8.
Slaton will complete his doctorate of education in educational leadership & business administration through University of the Cumberlands this year. He has a master of arts in education and adult higher education through Western Kentucky University. He most recently served as interim dean/chief enrollment management officer at West Kentucky Community & Technical College. He has also served as the director of financial aid at West Kentucky Community & Technical College. The public forum for Slaton will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 14.
Gray has a Phd in educational administration and foundations and a master of arts in theatre through Illinois State University. He most recently served as dean of arts and communication at Illinois Central College. He previously served as division chair of fine arts/program director of theatre (bachelor’s level) at Lincoln College. The public forum for Gray will be at 9 a.m. Friday, July 17.

I hope you get a guy that can restore the front lawn of the college to a nice beautiful lawn again. It is pretty ugly now. I believe in wildlife habitat but there is a time & place for everything and that is not the place
