Veronica C. Heldman, 99, of Celestine, passed away at 7:52 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2019, at Brookside Village Retirement Center in Jasper.

She was born at Schellville, Indiana, on July 9, 1919, to Bernard and Anna (Humbert) Theising. She married Barnabas Heldman November 10, 1943, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2009.
Veronica was a homemaker and member of St. Isidore Parish – St. Celestine Church. Other memberships include St. Ann Sodality and Celestine Community Club. She taught religion at St. Celestine for over 25 years and served on the quilting committee.
She is survived by five daughters, Germaine Blessinger (Leo) Carolyn Schipp (David), Patricia Fleck (Charles) and Sherril Lueken (Greg), all of Jasper and Kathleen Wibbeler (Jerry) of Huntingburg; two sons, Gregory Heldman (Beth) of Greenwood and Kevin Heldman (Marilyn) of Evansville; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Schmidt (Louis) of Jasper; sister-in-law, Helen Theising of Schnellville.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper

So sorry to hear of her passing. Will always have wonderful memories of her. Thank you for bringing your mom to visit my mom when she was in the nursing home. May she rest in the arms of God!!? Irene Persohn
