Tree victim of traffic accident

A tree was the victim of an accelerator mishap at Memorial Hospital Parking Lot on Friday at 5 p.m.

Nicole V. Nelson, 39, of Jasper, was parked in the hospital parking lot when she accidentally pushed the accelerator instead of the brake. The 2010 Pontiac Vibe she was driving jumped the curb and hit the small tree before continuing onto Dorbett Street.

The tree was valued at about $250.
