Huntingburg — A traffic stop for a broken headlight Friday night netted the ninth arrest for Operation Double Trouble.

According to authorities, Huntingburg officer Josh Hemmer stopped a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck at Second and Main streets at about 10:38 p.m. for a headlight being out. During the stop, Hemmer determined the driver, Dewayne Bouillon, 36, of Otwell, was wanted on a warrant out of Dubois County for dealing methamphetamine.

After being placed under arrest for the warrant, Hemmer located another controlled substance as well as other drug paraphernalia in the truck.

Officer Hemmer was assisted by Officer Paul Lehr and Deputy Mike Hanselman of the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

A Kars wrecker towed Bouillon’s truck.

Operation Double Trouble is the second large drug interdiction operation in Dubois County. A large raid was conducted Thursday a year and a day after Operation Big Brother netted 16 arrests for various drug dealing and possession charges involving methamphetamines, heroine, cocaine and other drugs.

  1. Keep up the good work, all you law enforcement men and women, and while you’re at it get a few of those drunks off the roads, too, especially in Huntingburg and Jasper.
