Thursday: Covid-19 case counts go up 36

The Indiana State Department of Health Covid-19 dashboard has recorded 36 new cases of Covid-19 in Dubois County, bringing the total number of cases in Dubois County up to 1,265 since the pandemic began.

The preliminary rolling average of positive test results in Dubois County is 22.3 percent. According to the state, 9,257 residents have been tested.

Additionally, the state health department reported 1,962 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with Covid-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 141,212 the total number of Indiana residents known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

A total of 3,632 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 23 from the previous day. Another 232 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.           

To date, 1,521,402 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 1,511,060 on Wednesday. A total of 2,420,865 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.

  1. THANK YOU for posting an update on our number of cases. When I saw that the Dubois County Dept. of Health would no longer post updates, I was worried that we would no longer see these. It’s helpful to know what is happening in our community with Covid-19.

  2. Honestly, the Dubois County Health Department needs to continue to report the number of cases per day. We are currently having a spike and for them to decide to discontinue letting their constituents know the degree of infectivity in this county is a dereliction of duty. There main purpose should be to protect the residents of Dubois County. I can only hope that this was not Mr. Werner’s doing.
