According to Indiana State Police, Trooper Connor Giesler stopped a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox at the 74.5 mile-marker on Interstate 64 Thursday, September 13, 2018, for speeding in a posted construction zone.

The driver was identified as Jakob Batchelor, 27, of Jasper. Two passengers in the vehicle were identified as Barbara Kelly, 62, of Huntingburg and Jeremy Siddons, 32, of Jasper.

During the course of the traffic stop investigation, officers became suspicious of potential drug activity. Trooper Giesler requested a K-9 officer to respond.

Georgetown Police Officer and his K-9 Partner, Felony, happened to be in the area at the time of Giesler’s request. ISP Sergeant George Wooten made contact with Georgetown Police Chief Kunkel, who happily and quickly ordered his K-9 Officer Charlie Morgan to respond to the scene.

Officer Charlie Morgan’s K-9 Felony conducted a free air sniff of Batchelor’s vehicle and gave a positive alert indicating the presence of illegal narcotics.
