Shoals man injured in crash; police suspect alcohol involved
Deputies suspect alcohol was involved when a Shoals man crashed his car Thursday evening near Cuzco.
Deputies were called to the crash reported just west of Cuzco Road on State Road 56 at about 8:44 p.m. When they arrived, they observed a 2003 Subaru car upside down in a ditch off the south side of the road.
The driver, 38-year-old Kaleb Connell, of Simmons Creek Road, Shoals, was outside of the vehicle. Connell told police he was westbound on State Road 56 when he had to swerve to miss a deer. According to police, the car did a 180, traveled off the south side of the roadway where it struck a utility pole, state highway signs and some corn in a field before coming to rest on its top.
It is believed that Connell was ejected from the vehicle, police said.
Connell was transported from the scene by ambulance to Memorial.
The vehicle was considered a total loss.
Deputies were assisted on scene by Indiana State Police, Dubois Volunteer Fire Department, Memorial Hospital EMS, and Uebelhor & Sons Wrecker.
The accident is still under investigation, however alcohol is believed to be a factor and charges may be filed at a later date.
We inadvertently added 300 years to Connell’s age. The mistake has been corrected.

Maybe age was a factor. 338 is pretty old…
338 Year Old ?.
Maybe his age was a factor! Lol
This is what happens when you let a 338 year old man drive..
