A graveside service was conducted on March 25, 2020, at New Discovery Cemetery in Rockville, Ind., for Rose E. Carnes, 73, formerly of Holland.

Rose passed away on March 23.

Rose was born April 1, 1946, in Guatemala.  She was the daughter of Russell and Margaret Anderson Birchard.

Rose married Richard C Carnes in 1979 and he preceded her in death. One brother Carl Birchard, and one sister Mary Nash also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Sevina Sakel(Lafayette), three step-daughters, Bonnie Stone (Jasper), Brenda Huther (Newburgh), Becky Blesch (Holland), and one son, Dr. Chris Stevens (Columbus). She had 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Two sisters also survive, Anita Reglin of Kansas City and Lois Dunn of Nampa, Id.

She retired as a nurse from Memorial Hospital Jasper.  She was a nurse for over 42 years.  She was also an interpreter for Dubois County Court System.

Rev. Jim Hudson officiated the service.
