Rev. Fennith Leon Evans, 75, Lamar, died on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 29, 1941 in Lamar to Fennith and Alma Irene (Harris) Evans.

He was the pastor of Faith Temple Church in Gentryville and retired from Whirlpool after 26 years.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Evans of Lamar; daughters, Terrie Barton and Crystal Shepherd of Palmer, Alaska; daughter-in-law, Cecilia Evans of Santa Claus; siblings, Janice Houchin, Carol Anderson and David Evans; two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Leon Evans; brother, Gary Evans; grandchildren, Kenneth Evans, Erica Holmes and Kimberly Dewing; and his pet Jack Russell, Penny.

Visitation is Sunday August 14, from 11 AM till 12:30 PM CDT at Fuller Funeral Home.

Funeral Services are planned for Sunday August 14 at 12:30 PM CDT at Fuller Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.

Fuller Funeral Home in Dale is handling the arrangements.

    1. Peggy, I don’t know what to say. I am so sad to learn of Leon’s passing. I wish you comfort and peace and love. Leon’s faith will surely lead him to those pearly gates, and he will be watching over all of you till you meet again. Rest in Peace, sweet Leon. Bill and Billie Boxx
