Positive COVID-19 case reports about awareness; not alarm
Jo Ann Spaulding, Dubois County Health Department Administrative Director, wants the public to understand that the updates being sent out to the public are designed to trigger a sense of responsibility; not alarm.
“(The reports are) for all of us to do what we can to limit the spread of this infection to our neighbors, friends, family and co-workers,” she said in a press release Saturday. “Working as a community, with concern for each other, we can limit the number of people who become infected by STAYING HOME, practicing social distancing, and good hand hygiene.”
Going forward, the Dubois County Health Department will only issue COVID-19 Situational Reports on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays unless there is a positive case to report.
Dubois County Health Department is continuing to advise the public to seek information from reputable and trusted sources.
Websites such as Indiana State Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control are reliable sources for updates, according to the health department. “We urge our community to remember that knowledge can help us remain prepared and level-headed as we continue to navigate this ongoing and ever-changing situation.”

Thank you for keeping us aware of the new cases in Dubois County.
Helps us not to forget that this is not over until it is over.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who have this nasty virus.
Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the caretakers and the families involved.
Be aware holiday foods meat deli that cuts our meats and bakery does not wear mask. One young man I seen was wearing his so he cut our meat. A young girl walked up and just started talking laughing as he was cutting meat. I stop her immediately told her to stay away she was not wearing a mask. Its not mandatory for them too. REALLY!!!!! To the health dept. You should make it mandatory.

Actually, I think our community could use a healthy dose of alarm. I just made a quick trip up to CVS for a few essentials, and was surprised to see so many people not wearing a mask or otherwise behaving like a deadly pandemic is still out there. My neighbors across the street have a driveway full of cars this evening. Business as usual. Party on.
As I type this, there are now almost 1,000,000 (that’s 1 million) cases of Covid-19 confirmed in the US, and nearly 54,000 reported deaths, and the numbers continue to climb.
As Indiana begins to loosen its “Stay at Home” order, let us not forget that we still have a responsibility to ourselves and to one another to help stop the spread of a virus that has already taken too many lives. Now is not the time to get complacent.
