Police seeking driver, occupant of SUV involved in hit-and-run

Jasper police are seeking help in identifying the individuals involved in a hit-and-run at Holiday Liquors North, 2905 N. Newton Street, last Friday.

The white SUV in the photos was involved in an incident damaging a 2000 Hyundai Sonata there at about 2:50 p.m.

According to the victim, the truck pulled up next to the passenger car in a parking space. When the passenger opened the door, it struck the victim’s vehicle denting it. The driver then attempted to back up the SUV to leave the scene while the door was still lodged in sedan’s driver’s side door which caused even more damage.

They stopped long enough for the passenger to close the door and then the SUV drove away from the scene.

The two occupants of the SUV were described as Hispanic males in their mid-30s. They allegedly shop at the liquor store regularly.
