A splash park included in the first phase of construction would reflect the natural theme of the park by using boulders and rock columns as spray features and shallow pool areas etched in stone.

The public will be able to view plans for the development of The Parklands in a meeting next week.

The Jasper Park Board is hosting a public meeting with the engineering and planning firms, Hafer PSC and Rundell Ernstberger Associates, at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24 in the council chambers at City Hall.

Questions and comments from the public will be welcome after the presentation.

The Parklands, located at the former Jasper Country Club golf course, was purchased by the city in 2013. It has been lightly maintained since with a walking trail added in 2015.
