Phoenix Drive in Huntingburg closed Tuesday

Weather permitting, final work on improvements to Phoenix Drive on the north side of Huntingburg is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday, November 6, weather permitting.

Phoenix will be closed from U.S. 231 to CR 400 West, but motorists may use 12th Street and Sixth Street as alternative routes.

Access to local businesses on this corridor will be maintained during the construction periods.

  1. In the interest of time for those who may be need the info, this should more accurately read: The work will complete the new asphalt resurfacing from County Road 400 West to US 231 (Main St.). 12th Street and 6th Street (State Rd. 64) are alternate routes.

  2. What about 400 West. They need to finish widening that road but it’s safe to say that will never get finished. They started on it in the Spring and just quit. The city should finish one project before starting on another. They can make sure a house gets tore down in a timely matter but drag their feet on a small stretch of road. Come on, I didn’t listen to Gail Kemp complain about the cost of widening the bridge (which by the way is a county expense, not a city expense) just to have the current administration not finish the project. I’m glad the city has its priorities straight.
