Penn Station East Coast Subs coming to Jasper in January

A Penn Station East Coast Subs will open on Jasper’s northside in January.
An ownership group based in Jeffersonville plans on bringing the national chain to Jasper next door to the new Starbucks (The Starbucks opens on Thursday, December 1, for those wondering). This is the same group that opened Zaxby’s across the street.
Ohio-based Penn Station East Coast Subs is widely-known for serving fresh-grilled and cold deli sandwiches, wraps, and salads made to order with only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. On top of using the freshest ingredients, the chain’s french fries are hand-cut daily and flash-fried in peanut oil. Plus, the lemonade is made from scratch twice a day using hand-squeezed lemons.

The managing owner of the new Penn Station, Patrick Hamilton, said the group is excited to bring a unique food offering to the area.
“t is a great town to be in,” Hamilton said. “The town’s already buzzing about us, so I think it’s gonna be a really good community to be involved in.”
Jasper is the first location in the group’s planned expansion into Southern Indiana. Other locations are planned for Charlestown, Madison, Salem and Corydon.
Hamilton has been involved with the franchise since 2011. “It was my first job out of high school, and I just fell in love with the product. I mean, we’re the Cadillac of the sandwich space,” he said.
Hamilton credited the great leadership he’s been able to work under as well as their dedication to promoting from within. “It was a concept that I could really see myself growing in,” he said.
This is his first partnership store with the Jeffersonville group.
While Hamilton’s favorite sandwich on the menu is the teriyaki chicken, he admitted that the Philly Cheesesteak is by far the company’s top seller and a fan favorite.

“The lemonade is top-notch as well,” Hamilton added, pointing out that the company prides itself on providing the freshest, high-quality ingredients for all of its offerings.
Hamilton expects to hire 12 to 15 full and part-time employees for the new store located at 4286 North Newton Street.
Customers will be able to order online through the company’s website or by calling in. Delivery will be available through Uber Eats or Doordash. They also offer delivered catering.
Regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Jasper Penn Station is expected to open on January 19, 2023.

I am not alone when I say that the south side of jasper NEEDS restaurants. In fact I find it silly that new restaurants would build on the north side, competing with all the others. Believe it or not there are a ton of people who avoid the north end due to the traffic. And many of us live on the south and east side of town… outside the city limits. So if you are thinking of building, buying, starting a restaurant do this county a favor and consider the south side. You will be pleasantly surprised with the business.
I wholeheartedly agree!!!
I totally avoid going to Northside for anything.
This is due to Walmart’s location. Everybody thinks they must be located close to Walmart. I for one am fed up with China-mart.
I totally agree, south side needs more places to eat for sure!
Agreed. I work on the North side and it’s horrible. I would love to see more food and shopping options brought to the South side again. The last few times we’ve been to Fazoli’s has been very disappointing so it would be nice to see a new restaurant come in to maybe bring some ‘give a dang’ back to that side.
I’ve lived on the North Side of Jasper since 1990. There are pro’s and con’s to living on this side of town.
When I leave my home to shop or eat it takes me less than 2 minutes to drive where I want to go most days. Unfortunately besides living close to where I attend Church this is the only con I can think of.
The traffic is a nightmare. When you live on this side of town the traffic affects you every day not just when you choose to go shopping or out to eat. I won’t address the traffic issue further, since you’re all aware of it. Especially the things that happen to back it up farther.
I agree with Nicole, the South Side of Jasper needs restaurants. The South Side of Jasper isn’t dead and the North Side of Jasper is too crowded. The car wash and McAlisters Deli were put in the middle of the shopping center parking lot. I’ve seen too many almost accidents.
Nicole what the South Side needs is a well known anchor store, in the spirit of competition.
I just totally avoid the north side of Jasper. I live in Huntingburg and if I can’t get what I need there. I will go to south or east side of Jasper. But if for some reason I can’t find it there, I will go without or go to Evansville or Owensboro. That is how much I hate driving to the north side of Jasper.
This is exciting, I wish you luck. I have heard good reports about your restaurant
Jasper needs more affordable housing. Who is going to work the new job openings?
Sounds good! I do however wish you the best of luck finding 12 to 15 full and part-time employees to work anywhere now days.
What’s the deal driving on Northside, I for one don’t see a reason some people don’t drive to the area?
We need a gas station going out of town instead of another credit union!!!!
