Patricia “Patty” A. Bohnenkamper, 78, Ireland
Patricia “Patty” A. Bohnenkamper, 78, of Ireland, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper surrounded by her family and friends.

Patty was born in on February 6, 1941, to Leo and Louise (Giesler) Heim. She married Victor J. Bohnenkamper Jr. on May 12, 1962, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2013.
She was a 1959 graduate of Ireland High School, where she was valedictorian of her class; she was a proud lifelong Ireland Spuds fan.
Patty retired from Heim Brothers Lumber, where she was co-owner and bookkeeper of the family’s business, and she previously worked for Sears, Leed’s Selling Tools, and Jasper Chair.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, where she was very involved in activities, such as the church choir for over 40 years and the church picnic, St. Ann’s, Ireland Historical Society, St. Patrick’s Committee, and the Survivors of Suicide, where she was treasurer.
She enjoyed attending family events, playing the accordion, gardening, doing yard work, and was known for decorating her house for every holiday. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandson, and her five great granddogs.
Surviving are one daughter, Marlene Schuler, Ireland, IN, one son, Paul (Tamara) Bohnenkamper, Ferdinand, IN, seven grandchildren, Bethany Rasche, Abby (Mike) Tunny, Kelsey (Caleb) Lindeman, Francis Bohnenkamper, and companion, Liz Daugherty, Zach Bohnenkamper, and companion, Kortney Barbier, Lauren (Zac) Frick, and Emily Schuler, and fiancĂ©, Justin Buechler, one great-grandson, Xander Lindeman, two sisters, Carol (Tom) Schneider, Eckerty, IN, Mary (Barry) Gibson, Orlando, FL, one brother, Ronald “Ronnie” (Joyce) Heim, Evansville, IN, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and her five great granddogs, Sophie, Max, Jack, Avie, and George,
Preceding her in death besides her husband are one son, David Bohnenkamper, one son-in-law, James “Jim” Schuler, and one infant sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia “Patty” A. Bohnenkamper will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Dubois County Survivors of Suicide or to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center.
