Othmar W. Sander, 72

Othmar W. Sander, 72, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 3:03 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Othmar was born in Ireland, Indiana on September 2, 1942, to William and Helen (Miller) Sander. He married Mildred Elmer on August 8, 1964 in St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Siberia, Indiana.
Othmar was in the National Guard. Othmar was part owner in JOJ Sander Incorporated for 50 years. He previously worked for Jasper Lumber. He was a member of a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, and a past member of the Ireland Sportsman Club. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and farming.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Sander of Ireland; two daughters, Donna Betz and her husband Myron of Schnellville and Judy Herzog of Jasper; four sons, Harold Sander of Ireland, Stanley Sander of Jasper, Mark Sander and his wife Tonya of Ireland and Brian Sander of Ireland; 16 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Wehr and her husband Richard and Cathy Schnarr and her husband Daniel, both of Jasper; four brothers, James Sander of Ireland, Charlie Sander and his wife Jackie of Oakland City, Kenny Sander and his wife Kathy of Jasper, and Jerry Sander and his wife Sharon of Jasper.
Funeral services for Othmar W. Sander will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
