Othmar “Ottie” H. Bromm, age 91

Othmar “Ottie” H. Bromm, age 91, of St. Anthony, passed away at 2:44 a.m. on Thursday (June 20, 2013) at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Othmar was born on August 3, 1921 in St. Anthony, Indiana to John and Mary (Welp) Bromm . He married Irma Troxler on May 22, 1947 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Indiana.
He was a Army veteran of WWII, and received the Purple Heart from injuries while serving in the European Theater.
He was past president and part owner of Hasenour Motor Company, where he had worked for over 50 years.
He was member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Indiana, the American Legion Post 493, the Jasper VFW Post 673, the Disabled American Veterans, the St. Anthony Holy Name Society, the St. Anthony Community Center, the St. Vincent De Paul Society, 50 year member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Purple Heart Organization.
He was one of the founders of the Wounded Veterans of Dubois County. He was one of the organizers that established the water and street lights in St. Anthony and was past president of both the St. Anthony Water Utilities and Street light committee.
He enjoyed mowing his grass, working, eating cookies, and playing cards.

Preceding him in death is one son Larry J. Bromm, Three brothers, Joseph, Theodore, and Albert Bromm, one sister, Lorena Rehkopf, and one Grand Daughter, Jennifer Bromm.
Funeral services for Othmar Bromm will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The St. Anthony American Legion Post 493 will conduct Military Graveside Rites.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church.
