Opinion: The circus is over but it will be back
The circus is over. All the clowns have gone home. It was a great show. But they’ll be back. Because this is the circus and the show must go on.
George Zimmerman was acquitted in a case that should never have come to trial. He engaged in self-defense and not second-degree murder or manslaughter as charged. None of the elements of those two charges applied in the Zimmerman case and so should never have been brought. Zimmerman though was not charged with a legal crime but a political one, the crime of “racism.” He was also not on trial, his country was. Zimmerman was only a foil.
The race business in America is thriving. Under our first black President, it has expanded. Limited before to the inner cities, it has now gone national. Race players on parade everywhere, in our streets, across our TV screens, into every nook and cranny of American life.
For the race industry, there is only one story that matters, the story of American racism, and they have taken that story to the bank. Legions of administrators, diversity “experts,” bureaucrats, lawyers, government agencies, “civil rights” organizations, “community” groups, street agitators, unions, and politicians, a towering edifice of race mongering, has formed and profited by this story. Zimmerman was only the latest symbol, another event to remind Americans that their country is permanently stuck in the 1950s – and no amount of special pleading, acts of contrition, or facts on the ground will change that.
There are thousands of homicides each year, most committed by blacks against other blacks, mostly in big cities run by liberal Democrats with strict gun laws, but only one mattered this year and that was Zimmerman. Had his name been Rodriguez or had he been black, you never would have heard of him and there would not have been a trial. That he turned out to be Hispanic disturbed liberal pieties, since two “minorities” do not serve the race template. Then they coined a new expression and labeled Zimmerman a white Hispanic, an absurdity, but who cared?
The race crowd cannot afford to accept black progress as meaningful. They will pay no heed to the positions of power blacks hold, the influence, prestige, and wealth that blacks have won. They will disregard the phenomenon of millions of Hispanics and other non-whites from across the globe, from Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, voluntarily coming to this country each year, abandoning their countries, culture, and family, for America. Even if America ceases to be a white majority nation, and becomes, as many predict, a majority-minority country, another liberal conceptual absurdity, with whites in the minority and shrinking fast, losing power and significance in an increasingly multiracial and multicultural America, still the race crowd would not alter its message. There is too much money and power to be lost. And so the race crowd will continue poisoning the country, stoking the flames of racial hatred, whipping up the mob, and tearing the fabric of the nation.
Race defines liberalism today and all that flows from it, an ideology of victimhood and grievance — and how to exploit it for money, votes, and political power. The race baiting left has plundered this narrative, farmed white guilt, harvested the social pathologies of the black community, most of which have nothing to do with racism, and grown and prospered. It has twisted the race legend into new shapes and forms to include other victim groups. It has invested its energies in the victim fable, the slave and the oppressor myth, in all its varied manifestations, and won. The victim-race narrative equals liberalism today. The black community has largely followed its message; it has been led into a house of poverty and despair.
While the goal at the dawning of the civil rights movement was to create a color-blind society, with individuals judged on merit and not skin color, the goal of the progeny of Martin Luther King’s generation has been the opposite, to promote a race-obsessed society, where races are set upon one another in mortal and perpetual conflict, and where membership in approved groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, and so on, confers privileges over others derived from some version of the race narrative and heaping servings of white guilt. The result has been the balkanization of the nation into a mosaic of tribes, a feuding, tribal society, with each group jealously competing for government favors at the expense of the other, busily manufacturing evidence of persecution, a zero-sum Hobbesian universe, an entirely destructive agenda, and a legacy the race industry is no doubt proud of…
Only a distracted white “racist” core has been left out of this affirmative action utopia to fend for itself. Yes, the white working class, formerly the backbone of the Democrat Party, abandoned for more fashionable demographics, clinging as they do to guns and religion.
So Zimmerman was acquitted. Justice was served. But not for the race hucksters. They will move on, looking for their next show trial, their next “moment” of American racism, to demonstrate once again that America remains irreversibly racist while promoting their lucrative careers.

The actual issue at heart with the Zimmerman/Martin (guilty or not a person was still killed, a person whom we should not forget about) is the Stand Your Ground Law in Florida. A law that essentially allows one person to pick a fight with another, and then to apparently use deadly force when that fight does not go the instigator’s way. Seems to me that is exactly what happened here. Why are you not addressing that Dr. Moss? Or was this far to convenient of an excuse to make your feelings about black America known to the world? Good luck in the election…this just sealed my vote for Messmer.

There is no issue with the Zimmerman trial concerning ‘Stand Your Ground’. ‘Stand Your Ground’ had nothing to do with the trial, unless, of course, if you only listened to the media hype and did no research of your own.
It’s wonderful that the people railing against ‘Stand Your Ground’ benefit from it as much as anyone else. Again, do your own research and quit acting like a sheep blindly following the media hype. Luckily, we don’t convict people based on how things ‘seem’. We actually look at facts.
Only an un-informed voter would think that Dr. Moss and Mr. Messmer were running against one another. Again, do your own research.

Whether it was a SYG case or not the jury certainly used SYG in determining the verdict…or at least one of them did so.
It should also be noted that SYG changed jury instructions, which stated previously a person had a duty to retreat by using “every reasonable means.” (Could GZ had retreated? I guess that is based on if you believe him.)
Instead the jury instructions were: “If George Zimmerman was not engaged in an unlawful activity and was attacked in any place where he had a right to be, he had no duty to retreat and had the right to stand his ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he reasonably believed that it was necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.”
I used to have hope that America wasn’t as racist as we once were, but then Obama was elected and now I have to hear racist rants all the time. If someone is going to say this isn’t still a racist country, well they are just lying. I experience it all the time and I’m sure they do too. If Zimmerman had killed a white kid, he’d get the death penalty.
What are you talking about? Let me guess, you’re a lib who only speaks on emotion….am I right? It doesn’t matter the race. What mattered in the case was evidence. And if the evidence would have been the same with a white person, the verdict would have been the same. Think a little before you speak. You would save yourself some embarrassment.
wow. in a civilized conversation and even in a heated debate, people are generally respectful and at the very least not rude. too bad to see you repeatedly can’t make your points without insulting the other person. it seems you are the emotional one.
When we feel like we’re moving forward in the “Race Problem” of the country we are reminded by events like the George Zimmerman case that there is still laws (Stand Your Ground) that perpetuate aspects of race/economic divisions. We rather pass laws such as this rather than deal with the real problem stagnated poverty in minority populations, underfunded schools and so on. George Zimmerman was acquitted because Florida doesn’t want to repeal the law that increases this conflicts and confrontations. It’s cheaper to buy a gun than to continue the fight for equality. Don’t forget history Doctor.
Can you show us where “Stand Your Ground” had anything to do with the Zimmerman trial? (I’m talking about facts that actually have to do with the trial, not the media frenzy related to the trial.)

Zimmerman was the aggressor in this situation and yet he walks. If Zimmerman doesn’t pretend to be a cop Trayvon Martin lives. If we can put people away for medical malpractice why is someone exempt when imitating a police officer? After all, Zimmerman’s short man complex was his driving force. If he wasn’t prepared for an altercation he would have never brought a gun with him.

I agree to disagree with Dr.Moss. But as it states up above what he has written is an (opinion) thats all. But as Dr.Moss has also stated up above so the show must go on as we the ones on this page are creating but another circus right here!

This does not match the US DOJ statistics.
According to the USDOJ (http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/htus8008.pdf page 11): Compared with the overall percentage of murder victims who were black (47.4%), blacks were less likely to be victims of sex-related homicides (30.4%), workplace killings (12.5%), or homicides of elders age 65 or older (28.6%).
If only 47.4 of the victims are black and 50.3% are white then most murders CANNOT be by black-on-black because the percentage of black victims is not sufficient enough.
That being said, from 1980 through 2008, 84% of white victims were killed by whites and 93% of black victims were killed by blacks. (page 12)
The article is correct that homicides occur mostly in big cities but the tenor of the article would make you believe it was a very very high difference between big cities when, in fact between 1980 and 2008, only 57.7% of homicides occur in cities with more than 100K population (size of Evansville). As well, it has declined drasticly since 1990 from 45/100K to 12/100K. (page 29)
As for crime being in big cities, well, that depends on what is being defined as a “big” city. Of the top 10 most dangerouse cities none have a population greated than 1M. For comparison, Louisville has a population of 1.4M and Evansville has a population of 117K. 2 of the cities had a population in the 100K, 1 in the 200K, 2 in the 300K, 2 at 400K, and the remaining three 600K-700K. Each of the cities are impoverished and most do have tight gun controls. I do not know each states gun laws but memphis, TN (which is number 5) is not strict. AS for the party’s involved in each of the cities, I don’t have time to look it up but I would be surprised if the mayor’s party affiliation did not change periodically unless the governor’s party affiliation rarely changed.
