Open church

Melinda Haecock felt that she needed to do something.
“McDonald’s is open. Walmart is open. Churches are closed,” she said picking up a large McDonald’s cup and tipping it towards me. “So I thought I’d bring the church to the street.”
Melinda said the idea hit her Friday evening so Saturday morning, she went to the corner of 15th and Newton after making her sign.

She planted herself at the corner with the sign at 7 a.m. “It was supposed to rain but, look, it’s beautiful out,” she raised a hand to the clear blue sky.
She stood for quite a while before deciding to get a chair. The beautiful day added to her determination to stand her post but tired feet prevailed and she headed home for a chair.
A few kids came up and gave her a bottle of water at one point.
Some runners exhaled a couple “amens” as they passed by.
She hopes it’s a message that helps people. “People need hope. We need hope,” she said. “I need hope,”
She’s had plenty of thumb ups from rolled down windows of passing cars. “Only one fellow rolled his window down and gave me a thumbs down,” she said. “That’s okay.”
She plans on being there all day. “I don’t have anything else to do,” she said. “If I’m at home, I’ll just watch TV.”

Melinda admitted she’s been a believer her entire life but has had her fallen moments. “I’m a sinner,” she said. “I’m so glad He loves me.”

What a great message ! Thank you for doing what God put on your heart!
Way to go mel you get the message out GOD BLESS YOU
Those that do not know Jesus do not understand.
We will Pray that those who do not know Him will one day.
Thinking about the guy who pointed thumbs down.
God may have planted a seed in him that day.
God bless you.
Mel you are one awesome lady! Love and miss you girl!!
Melinda, I think what you are doing is great. I seen you Sat. with your sign an immediately thought Yes! God is in control! It gave me a feeling of comfort. Amen! Thank you!
God never gives up on us; He keeps drawing us by His Spirit. Sometimes we get off track but His great love is unconditional. He loves us even when we’re not so lovable. Thank you for taking a stand in the army of God! Together we can make a difference. Blessings!
Dear god,
Please protect me from your followers. They are childish, selfish, greedy and ignorant.
I understand you are not real, so I know you are not in control. People have to take control, of the dire situation we are in. If they refuse, they have only themselves to blame for continuing to spread disease and death.
Sincerely,
A responsible caring adult who worries about the fate of our community, country and planet, and does not want further spread of disease, death and destruction
Thanks for loving me lord which I dont deserve tu for forgiving my daily sins amen
There is a sermon on YouTube under “9 Line Ministries” Chris Holman preaching an encouraging message called GOD IS IN CONTROL, addressing the COVID-19 crisis. This is a message of hope for all believers like this lady holding a sign.
