One new COVID-19 death; 3 new cases

Thursday, the Dubois County Health Department reported another death attributed to COVID-19.

“We are sorry to report that we have been informed of another Dubois County death,” the department stated in a press release. “We offer heartfelt grief for the family and friends who lost their loved one. This tragedy reminds the entire community the importance of following recommendations set out by the CDC.”

Additionally, there are three new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) to report. That brings the total to 1,112 positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubois County residents. Of the 1,112 cases, 905 have reportedly recovered and 20 residents have died. 8,793 residents have been tested.

The health department further stated they are seeing high community spread of COVID-19 in Dubois County. “We understand that stage 5 has removed some restrictions on the number of people allowed at group gatherings and special events. However, it is still essential to physically distance yourself from others and wear masks while participating in these activities. This increase in viral spread impacts our schools, healthcare facilities and the entire community.”
