Norman Celestine Schue, 82, of Ferdinand, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018, at his home.

Norman was a retired coal miner & farmer. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, and its St. Joseph’s Sodality. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Santa Claus Legion Post 242. Norman was a member of the Mariah Hill Y.M.I. and was a former 4-H leader. He was awarded the 2010 Conservation Farmer of the Year. He enjoyed his farm, dogs, children & grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife Leona (Kitten) Schue; sons, Paul (Jenell) Schue of Huntingburg, Scott (Gina) Schue of Evansville, Jeff Schue of Dale, and Eric (Audra) Schue of Jasper; daughters, Norma (Michael) Kreilein of Jasper, Valerie Hassfurther of Ferdinand, Audrey (Scott) Fischer of Jasper and Gayla Sliwa of Cicero; 15 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, on great-grandchild, and eight step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sue Reynolds and Paulita Pund, both of Mariah Hill and Nellie (Fred) Ebert of Ferdinand.
Norman was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Schue; two brothers, John and Leo Schue and a sister, Sylvia Obermeier.
A Mass of Christians burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 11th in Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. Burial with military graveside rites conducted jointly by the Santa Claus and Ferdinand Legions will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ferdinand Church or a favorite charity.
