Nancy J. Griffin, 68, of Huntingburg, passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.
Nancy was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on December 17, 1948, to William and Clara Mae (Troxler) Margarida. She married Ben Griffin on November 17, 1994, in Huntingburg. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2012.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed listening to the local radio stations, loved to watch and feed birds, her cat Carly, and watching shows on TV Land.
Surviving is one daughter, Maria Eckert and companion Anthony Farrell of Huntingburg; one son, Jamie Eckert (Ermie) of Huntingburg; one sister, Gina Frick (Roy) of Huntingburg; one brother, Arthur Margarida (Ruth) of Jasper.
Preceding her in deatbesidesde her husband were her parents.
Funeral Services for Nancy J. Griffin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Fr. William Traylor will officiate.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

I knew Nancy when she was married to Ben. They were the sweetest people ever. I haven’t seen Nancy since she moved to Pleasant View. When I heard her name this morning on the radio I was surprised to hear this bad news. Jamie I didn’t realize she was your mom! My husband went to school with Nancy, and years ago when I asked if he knew her, he commented she was a good person to be around. I’m so sorry Jamie.
