Memorial Hospital moves site for Covid-19 screening

Beginning Monday, May 25, 2020, Memorial Hospital’s Alternate Screening Site in Jasper will close and the screening operations for COVID-19 will be directed to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s Urgent Care Center, located at 507 E. 19th Street in Huntingburg.

Urgent Care Center is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. excluding holidays. The hours for Memorial Day are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The hospital asks that all patients call Urgent Care Center at 812-683-4717 prior to your visit to receive instructions about your appointment and to pre-register. To ensure our patients’ safety, they will be separating all patients experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. You may also be asked to wait in your car until you are ready to be seen by a provider.

Masks are required for all visits to Urgent Care Center, and the hospital asks that you continue to practice good hand hygiene prior to and during your visit.

  1. Seems they’re saying that because those testing positive have mostly been in Huntingburg (which of late can’t be argued), they may as well have the screening site there, away from the hospital, et al.

  2. The covid 19 testing site was already away from the Hospital!!!!
It was in a nice isolated location !! If the Hospital didn’t want it at the Hospital they should not want it at the urgent care in Huntingburg!!! I don’t like them doing that!! I hope they reconsider quickly! Farbest had a lot of positive cases but that doesn’t mean they all lived in Huntingburg or was even from our county!! People drive from different places to work. Inoccent people should not have to worry about being exposed at urgent care!!! or at the emergency room!!! Please Memorial Hospital reconsider !! I live in Huntingburg !! Please keep the testing site where you have it!!!!
