Martin J. “Marty” Olinger, 62, formerly of Ferdinand
Martin J. “Marty” Olinger, 62, formerly of Ferdinand, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, in Barstow, California.
Marty was the son of the late Nestor and Lenora Olinger of Ferdinand.
He was a 1973 graduate of Ferdinand High School and the Hobart School of Welding Technology in Troy, Ohio. He enjoyed making crafts out of wood and metal as well as riding motorcycles.
Marty is survived by his four brothers, Michael (Barbara) of Springfield, Ill., Patrick (Karen) of Evansville, Eugene (Judy) of Mechanicsburg, Penn. and Thomas (Kathy) of Carmel; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Services for Marty Olinger will be celebrated at a later date.
Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand is in charge of arrangements.
I Remember Marty, Although it’s been a many a moons since the 70’S, Good dude, Camping and good times spent at Brockman’s lane & Eagle Rock, I remember hanging out in the Olinger basement shoting the bull with Nestor, and Marty on the drums laying down a uniquely cool rhythm that not missing a beat!
