Martha R. Yaggi, 88, Jasper
Martha R. Yaggi, 88, of Jasper, passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018, in Brookside Village in Jasper.

Martha was born in Terre Haute on May 20, 1930, to Paul and Mary (Bousche) Haas. She married Kenneth Yaggi on June 25, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2007.
She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School and then Indiana State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education.
Martha was a homemaker, previously an art teacher, and later a substitute teacher for several years. She enjoyed doing crafts and sold them. She also enjoyed painting and
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.
She liked playing bridge and was a member of a few Bridge groups. She also enjoyed sewing and was a great seamstress.
She is survived by two daughters, Laura (Lewis “Mike”) Michael of Florida and Lynn Yaggi of Jasper; one son, Jim Yaggi of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Sr. Marie Paul Haas of Chicago; one brother, Paul R. Haas of Gainesville, Ga.
Preceding her in death besides her husband, are two sisters, Harriett Allegree, and Sylvia Jones.
A Catholic Mass for Martha R. Yaggi will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.

Martha was such a sweet women..she always helped me when I had my shop..some days she always gave me the best ideas!! I’m sure she will be missed!!
I was six years old when Martha was attempting to teach me to draw and color in the basement of her house.
Because Huntingburg High School offered no art in the 50s, I was fortunate to find that Martha gave art instructions, first above Yaggi’s restaurant, and then in her home. Such a kind, patient lady.
