Mark E. Bettag, 55, of Portersville, Indiana, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2014, at his home.

He was born at Evansville, Indiana on August 22, 1959 to Elmer and Margaret (Brown) Bettag. He married Karen Keller on September 3, 1994 in Haysville, Indiana.

He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Crailsheim, Germany. Mark was a dump truck driver for Triple K Trucking Company and also for Paul Cooper and Robert Schaeffer Trucking Company. He enjoyed fishing, trapping, and deer hunting. He enjoyed spectating sprint car racing and NFL football. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Bettag; two stepdaughters, Keena Rostron of Princeton and Sharon Myers and husband, Dustin, of Portersville; three stepgrandchildren; father, Elmer Bettag of Loogootee; three sisters, Cathy Antey and husband, Mike, of Newburgh, Sherry Reynolds of Virginia Beach, Va., and Vicki Bryant and husband, Jeff, of Oakland City; four brothers, Tom Bettag of Evansville, Steve Bettag and wife, Kim, of Oakland City, Kenny Bettag of Cannelburg, Ind., and Lenny Bettag and wife, Maria, of Evansville.

Preceding him in death is his mother, Margaret Bettag.

Funeral services for Mark Bettag will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the Portersville Cemetery. The Rev. Adam Ruschau will officiate. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper conduct military grave side rites.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct military grave rites
