Marguerite “Peg” Knies, 73

Marguerite “Peg” Knies, age 73 of Jasper passed away at 8:15 p.m. Friday (October 5, 2012) at her home of complications of cancer.

She was born in Jasper on January 23, 1939 to Victor and Betty (Blessinger) Friedman. She married Larry L. Knies on October 1, 1959 in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.

Peg along with her husband operated Larry L. Knies Welding , Inc.

She is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church – Blessed Virgin Sodality.

Three sons,

• Eric Knies and spouse Denise, Jasper, IN
• Drew Knies and spouse Carmen, Santa Claus, In
• Jay Knies and spouse Jennifer, Jasper, IN

Ten grandchildren; Matt Messmer and spouse Megan, Tonia Messmer and Luke Messmer —, Rachel Knies, Ted and Josh Knies —, Maggie and C.J. Boeckman –Olivia and Claire Knies. One great grandson, Grant.

Funeral services for Peg Knies will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (October 10, 2012) in Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday (October 9, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church.

Rosary will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Blessed Virgin Sodality of Holy Family Parish.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
