Man injured in trailer fire

Wednesday morning, units of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire involving a trailer filled with straw.

A man identified as Chip Kugler, of Jasper, reportedly suffered burns to his face, arms and legs when a trailer he was hauling on St. Charles Street caught fire. Kugler was taken to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center before being transfered to another facility.

The cause of the fire that was reported at 11:24 a.m. is undetermined.

The Jasper Police Department and Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services also responded.

The trailer was a total loss.
