Man arrested for throwing fireworks from car and starting field fire near St. Anthony
Edward Hutchins was arrested on Wednesday after an anonymous caller notified Emergency Dispatch that a vehicle driving east on State Route 64 near Columbus Container was throwing fireworks at passing cars. The fireworks started a field fire near the West Club Road near St. Anthony that was put out by the volunteer fire department.
Hutchins and a passenger, Jeffrey G. Deich, were stopped by Birdseye Town Marshall Bob Jenkins at around 6 p.m. When Dubois County deputies arrived they arrested Hutchins on an active warrant out of Crawford County and charges for the illegal use of fireworks and for causing the field fire.
Charges are pending with the Dubois County Prosecutor’s office.
