Madeline L. Stackman, 96, Jasper

Madeline L. Stackman, 96, of Jasper, passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. 

Madeline was born in Fort Wayne on September 13, 1923, to Charles and Ethel (Lower) Howard. She married Virgil L. Stackman on March 22, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2012. 

She was a homemaker and attended Redemption Christian Church in Jasper. She enjoyed reading, bible studies, and spending time with family. 

She is surviving by one daughter, Diann Oates (Larry) of Jasper; one son, Joel Stackman (Joni) of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Larry Oates II, Kevin Oates, and Mark Oates, Neil Stackman, Rachael LoPresto, and Christopher Wagner; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. 

Preceding her in death besides her husband were two sisters, Evelyn Newton and Clara Collins, and one brother, Charles Howard Jr. 

Private funeral services will be held at Becher-Kluesner North Funeral Home in Jasper with burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Jasper. 

Reverend Darrel Land will officiate. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Memory Care Unit at Northwood Retirement Community or Redemption Christian Church in Jasper.
