LttE: Call to support senate bills that stop the federal overreach into Hoosier lives
Currently in the Indiana Senate there are multiple bills that address the Federal government’s overreach into Hoosiers daily lives.
These Senate bills propose to use provisions set forth by James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and many other founding fathers that are all contained in the 10th amendment. The 10th amendment stands as the check against the Federal government and its expanded reach beyond the scope of the U.S. Constitution.
Today we see this overreach being used mostly via the commerce clause, a part of the Constitution many don’t understand or don’t care about since we have our daily lives to attend to. I want to urge each and every one of you to understand that these brave Hoosier politicians seek to protect our freedoms via these Senate bills. To help these bills move forward, residents of Indiana will be required to get involved.
I present my three most important bills that require our participation in being passed into law.
- SB 0230 – Applicability of federal law in Indiana
- SB 0127 – Arrests and searches by federal employees (NDAA)
- SB 0130 – Indiana firearms freedom act.
These three bills all have the same thing in mind, our Hoosier government protecting the citizens herein from Federal laws that exceed their powers delegated in the Constitution. One by one your ability to function as an independent individual is being removed by unconstitutional laws and only the States stand to protect us.
So what are we to do in order to move these bills along? Call Indiana Senator David Long today. According to other elected officials, he is the individual responsible for these bills being heard, or dying without a vote. Call and ask him to allow these bills to be moved out of committee. Ask him to rise to his leadership role of overseeing Indiana government and protecting Hoosiers from an out of control Federal Government. are right on the money, Adrian. With a central government that is out
of control and operating well beyond the limits of the Constitution,
only our Indiana legislature and Governor can stand between us and
the tyranny of the Federal Government. In manners as subtle and
oblique as the loss of privacy to bold efforts underway to nullify
our Second Amendment right of armed defense, someone must intercede
to protect our American heritage.
We don’t need politicians who claim to believe in the 9th and
10th Amendments, but are unwilling to fight for us because
they accept as fact that the supremacy clause nullifies the concept
of states rights. Senator Long’s perspective, that a testing of
these laws in the courts would end in a loss for Indiana, is
troubling. Because Indiana can loose a battle in the Federal Courts,
we should not engage in the war to defend our liberty and sovereignty
on all fronts. What kind of message are our representatives sending
to us? More importantly, what is the message for the enemies of the Constitution?
These bills are clearly unconstitutional on their face and Senator Long and other responsible members of our legislature are correct to stop them. I am curious though about your comment that ” One by one your ability to function as an independent individual is being removed by unconstitutional laws” We have a system of government that allows the US Supreme Court to determine constitutionality of federal and state laws. Are you arguing that we should ignore the Supreme Court? Is that constitutional? And can you give specific examples of how our ability to function is being removed? I have not noticed that.
Marty you need to read the Constitution, specifically the 9th and 10th amendment. The federal government is limited in what they can do and the Supreme court which can not make law. The federal government has no Constitutional rights in any states. Period. Your ignorance of the Constitution astounds me.
