Letter: U.S. must stop supporting Israel
Elected representatives should be accountable to all people they represent, not institutional forces like lobbyists and special interests.
Politicians are often unable to do their job because their only goal is to do whatever it takes to get re-elected and keep their power; not to do what is right for the American people. This doesn’t make them bad people, just bad representatives.
The biggest example is of this is the American/Israeli PAC donating to greedy US politicians in order to gain favorable grants of aid to Israel.
Last Wednesday our country promised the State of Israel $38 billion dollars. It is the biggest pledge of aid in US history. This act itself only adds fuel to the Mideast fire and jeopardizes the United States.
This at the same time the US Army is reducing morale, welfare and recreation (MWR) funds in fiscal year by 23 percent. Yet our corrupt Congress is doling out tens of billions of dollars to the State of Israel so Israel can be in a position to continue land grabbing and ethnic cleansing of occupied Palestine.
We should be supporting the country of Palestine’s right to exist—which is illegally occupied and subjugated by the Israeli Army— instead of Israel’s.
All of this, while there is a lack of funds for the VA, and for the support of our military families! Sad that an average of 22 members of our armed forces commit suicide every day. Yet insufficient funds are set aside to care for our American veterans. Our soldiers have been dying for decades, mostly because of the US government’s actions on behalf of Israel.
Shame on Congress!
Time for term limits!
For expressing my opinion, I will be called anti-Semitist, which is not true, as some members of my family are Jewish!
If it were up to US citizens, Israel wouldn’t get a dime. American taxpayers are tired of borrowing money to provide welfare to Israel whose citizens live better than most Americans while our own citizens, military and infrastructure suffer.
Getting rid of established Washington politicians would be a good start to saving our country (term limits).
If we truly believe in freedom, democracy and self-determination, the United States of America should cease this obscene aid to Israel and support the Palestine people and their right to exist.
I challenge you to ask your representative questions based on what I write here. I did. Of course, you will receive no answer from the corrupt ones.
“…foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government…,”warned President George Washington in 1796.

Sure, we all should support the Palestine-terrorists, right? WRONG! A couple of things to agree with, though, are, one: the suggestion for term limits and that “getting rid of established Washington politicians would be a good start…” Right on spot – let’s start with Hillary Clintion being the first to go; two, that “American taxpayers are tired of borrowing money to provide welfare…” but not to Israel. Rather, to the mass influx of illegal aliens (yes, aliens – immigrant is a term for those who enter legally and don’t abuse the system – and yes, I understand many non-Hispanic resident citizens also abuse the system) who take advantage of our totally broken immigration system which allows such mass abuse.
