I always find it interesting when christians try to support welfare programs with christian doctrine. I agree that as christians we should care for others. I'm not sure I've read where Jesus advocated forcing people to pay for the poor. I know Jesus advocated helping the least of us but to my knowledge he didn't say "go take the money from those romans over there to pay for my poor people". Jesus advocated voluntary interactions, not coercive ones.
I also find it interesting when people advocate forcing others to take part in a program against their will. I believe it is immoral to force someone to pay money into something that they don't want to. People should be able to opt out of all the entitlement programs. Forcing people to pay into entitlement programs is just immoral in my opinion.
I can't force my neighbor to pay me money to invest for him so the government shouldn't be able to either.
On a side note, I would agree that Mitt Romney is a horrible big government politician. I think he's just as bad and Obama and really doesn't deserve our votes. Our politicians should be limiting the size and scope of government not increasing it. Debt has continued to increase under Obama. Voting for Romney won't change that. Voting for Romney will be a nominal decision at best.
I don't see how you can quote the bible and clearly support a party that is pro abortion! People can change their views or even their religion. Obama changed from Muslim to a radical Christian church but I guess you don't care about that. I didn't see you put where there are a record number of American receiving food stamps under Obama. I don't even know why Obama is running for reelection in the first place. He said that if the economy isn't better by the end of his first three years that he would be a one term president. Well, with Obama adding trillions to the national debt, I would say that the economy is not getting any better. If Obama gets another four years, we won't have a credit rating left. So it seems like I have been educating myself much better than you have. I'll see you at the poles to put Indiana back to the red state that it should have been four years ago.
Obama added less to the debt than what Bush did. Since you want to talk about debt I will remind you that Bush put two wars and medicare part d all on the debt. As for the credit rating, the blame needs to be placed upon the house and senate republicans because they are the ones that held raising the debt ceiling hostage just so they could get something that they wanted. Raising the debt ceiling has been done more under the last administration than under the current one. You are the one that needs to educate yourself better before you make a comment.
We need a different congress not president. The only thing that the House and Senate republicans have done the past two years is block anything that will help the economy recover. Those are not my words. The Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnel is the one that said that was their mission for the last two years.
I agree, educate yourself, but it seems Mr. Link only looked at one side. Both sides have negatives and positives. In a nutshell, it is either "big government", Obama, or "smaller government", Romney.
