Letter: Questions to shape voting decision

May I suggest voters ask potential elected representatives the following questions, hopefully getting honest personal answers (not party approved answers) before deciding who to vote for:

1. Do you support congressional term limits? If so, what would you propose and are you willing to promise, in writing, to actively support such?

2. Is it true that the country of Israel has a stockpile of nuclear weapons and their citizens receive free health care and college education at US taxpayer expense?

3. The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads in its entirety, “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
a. Do you believe the subject thereof is, in a literal sense, “A well-regulated Militia”?
b. Do you support any form of common-sense gun control regulations, like for instance, denying access to guns by dangerous people?

4. The Constitution of the United States cites providing for the welfare of the people. If you interpret that the Second Amendment gives all American citizens a right to have a modern military style firearm with large capacity magazines, then would you interpret the constitution as giving a right to all American citizens a right to receive health care, regardless of a personal ability to pay for such?

5. Do you believe that unlimited financial considerations can be given to politicians from secret un-named sources for any reason (Citizen United) and, if so, are you willing to name all sources of any income or benefits given to you or any organization associated to you?

6. What is your position on illegal aliens and would you support requiring employers that knowingly hire foreign nationals to “legally” work on a term limit basis to post bond to the US Department of Justice in order to insure such temporary workers are returned to their country of origin?

7. Would you support consumer protection laws to monitor and regulate unscrupulous businesses, such as gas station owners gouging consumers on gasoline prices or the recent Epi-Pen fiasco based on greed, not on supply and demand?

8. Are you concerned as to what is killing off the earth’s honey bee population?

9. Do you prioritize bringing in political refugees, giving them free housing and free social services like food stamps, Medicaid and schooling before insuring all homeless veterans are housed?
