Letter: Congratulations to the happy couple

Finally, some good news. At a West Virginia rally on Sunday, Donald Trump announced that he and Kim Jong Un have “fallen in love” over some “beautiful letters” Kim wrote to Mr. Trump.

No date set as of yet, although word is that they have registered at Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, and Loco Joe’s Nuclear Blasting Caps. Details to follow.

Again, congratulations to the happy couple.

  1. Is this Facebook now? This would be a funny Facebook post. It is a pretty asinine Letter to the Editor.

    1. AGREE 100%. So much BS in these stupid letters about Trump. So glad us grown up have not stoop to their level.

      1. Gee Sandy, I didn’t set the bar here. Those cringe inducing phrases came from Trump himself. It you’re stooping to anybody’s level, it’s his.

But both you and Jim are missing the larger question. The post was lighthearted because the words Trump used were so absolutely bizarre. But, as a self professed grown up, you certainly would have an opinion about Kim Jong Un — the Supreme Leader of the most totalitarian country on the face of the earth. Do you find him lovable? Even if he would say nice things about you?

        Just curious.

        1. I didn’t miss the point, Scott. I just don’t see what you gain from posting something like that on here. I kind of thought this was a news site so Letters would be thought provoking. Not juvenile.

And like someone said below me, I laughed a little but the jokes are becoming stale and unoriginal. With Dan Barrett acting like the sky is falling every week, Trump jokes sound less like humorous hyperbole and more like serious cries for help…Which would be embarrassing.

          1. Jim,

Again, my letter was partially in jest only because I couldn’t get around the words Mr. Trump himself used. But whether it was humorous or not is of no import. There is a significant issue here that no one wants to address. I can rephrase: What do you think of the self described bromance between Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un and the consequences it will have on the Korean Peninsula? Is that not a thought provoking question? I can tell you what it’s NOT. It’s not a juvenile question, and it is not a joke.

You folks need to concentrate less on form and more on substance. And it wouldn’t hurt to lighten up a bit.

  2. Hello Mr. Newton, your childhood home is up for sale again. The current owner has really fixed up the place very nicely. It looks beautiful. Many good memories in there. Just thought you’d like to know.

    1. Silent Majority,

I got the chance to see it during an open house and was amazed at what had been done. I sure hope some family gets to move in. It’s always been a “family” home.

      Scott

  3. It’s funny, but kind of stale since the only jokes anymore are about Trump. Got a chuckle out of it at least. But, on the serious side, MAGA, Trump 2020 and vote Republican in November. Democrats are destroying this country.
