Kenneth J. Wehr, 69, Birdseye
Kenneth J. Wehr, 69, of Birdseye, passed away at 7:35 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at home.

Kenneth was born in Huntingburg on September 29, 1950, to Joseph and Anna Marie (Buechler) Wehr.
He was United States Marine Corps veteran serving as an aviation mechanic during the Vietnam Era; 1969-1973. He had many professions but was a proud entrepreneur and started his own Waste Management Company called White Oak Services.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, motorcycles, and his grandchildren. He was a member of ABATE, Birdseye Conservation Club, United States Marine Corps League, and the Ireland Historical Society.
He is survived by one daughter, Kendra (Nathan) Welp of Washington State; two sisters, Kathryn Rinderknecht of Ireland and Christine James of Ferdinand; and three grandchildren, Aaliyah, Henley, and Sawyer Welp, all of Washington State.
Preceding him in death besides his parents, are one sister, Louise Ann Wehr; two brothers, Randolph “Randy” and Alan Wehr, and one brother-in-law, Charles Rinderknecht.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth J. Wehr will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, IN. A visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m. service time at the church on Friday. The VFW Post 673 will perform graveside rites.

I’ve known Kenny ( PECKER ) for many years. We rode a lot of miles together on our Harleys , shared a lot of stories, and tipped a lot of cold ones. Our times together goes back to the 1970s.
Pecker was one of my best friends for the last 47 years. I will miss you . We had some wild times together.Rest in peace till we meet again.
