John G. Wendholt, 66, Huntingburg

John G. Wendholt, 66, of Huntingburg, passed away at 11:05 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Evansville.

He was born May 30, 1951, in Huntingburg to Albinus and Mildred (Steltenpohl) Wendholt. He married Jane Hohl on October 22, 1977, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

John was employed at Mobel Manufacturing in Ferdinand for 30 years. He then worked for a number of years at C.V.S. Pharmacy and most recently for Sheldon’s Express Pharmacy. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; volunteered with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. He was also an avid collector and enjoyed spending time playing with his grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his wife, Jane Wendholt of Huntingburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Tracy (Chris) Eckstein of Jasper; three brothers, Danny Wendholt of Huntingburg, Roman Wendholt of Huntingburg and Paul Wendholt of Dale; one sister, Mary Lee Knies of Ferdinand; one grandson, Myles Eckstein; and by nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for John G. Wendholt will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017. A parish rosary prayer vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
