Jerome (Jerry) Moeller, 82, Evansville

Jerome (Jerry) Moeller, 82, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born October 7, 1936, in Jasper, to the late Leo and Veronica (Helming) Moeller.

Jerry met his wife Camilla (Ackerman) Moeller and were married May 19, 1962, in Ireland. 

Jerry retired from CRS One Service in Owensboro, Ky., after 30 years. After retirement, he needed to stay busy, so he purchased a food brokerage firm which he operated for 10 years. His Christian faith was the foundation of his life and family. He enjoyed being a very active member of Annunciation Parish, Christ the King campus. He was honored to receive the Simon Bruté Society Award for his outstanding model of Christian fellowship and service. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Evansville Council #565. In 2014, the Knights of Columbus Indiana State Council awarded Jerome the Timothy P. Calvan K.S.C. Award for the Outstanding Catholic layperson. He enjoyed volunteering for many church, school and community activities, especially Life Choices Maternity and Youth Home. He also loved spending time traveling and golfing with his wife, family and friends.  

Jerry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Camilla (Ackerman) Moeller; son, Steven (Theresa) Moeller of Jasper; daughter, Karen (Steve) Langlois of Hartford, Wisc.; grandchildren, Amanda Moeller and Joseph Langlois; stepgrandchildren, Alex and Holly Carroll; brother, Dennis Moeller of Jasper and sister, Rose Dick of Greenwood.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bernard Moeller, sisters, Rita Webber and Sister Mary Moeller, SP and grandson, Jacob Langlois.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Avenue where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2019, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3010 E. Chandler Ave., Evansville. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Fr. Alex Zenthoefer and Fr. Frank Renner officiating.  

Private burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, IN. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Annunciation Parish or the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 3010 E. Chandler Ave., Evansville, IN 47714.

  1. Mr. Moeller was such a kind man. He was so wonderful to my Dad when he was sick by taking him to work at Life Choices. Prayers and comfort to all of you.

  2. Jerry was a gift to so many theought his life. For 27 years he helped with the Serra Club of Evansville…Sisters Night Out. This special evening was for all Cathilic sisters who were in the Diocese of Evansville. Many sisters working in other states but whi were Benedictine sisters were always welcome to come for this annual event. Jerry was respected and loved by the sisters. Jerry was a good, kind, faithful, and faithfilled servant of the Lord. We worked uearly together qith this endeavor. I will never forget our friendahip and the goodness that Jerry possessed. God bless, Camilla, Karen, and Steve. Your dad will always care and watch over you!
