Jeffrey L. “Jay” Schnell, 59, of Jasper, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020, at home.

Jay was born in Jasper to Donnie and Irma (Taber) Schnell. He married Jolene Schroering on January 14, 1984, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
Jay had worked for OFS in Huntingburg for more than 14 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland and Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed camping, hunting, going to shooting matches, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jolene Schnell of Jasper; one daughter, Amber Jones and fiancé, Adam Hopf, of Haysville; one son, Brandon Schnell (Jennifer James), of Jasper; three grandchildren, Cheyann Jones, Brayden and Bradley Schnell, and one on the way; one brother, Rick Schnell (Denise), of St. Anthony; two sisters; Deb Kluemper of St. Anthony and Barbara Kane (Michael) of Santa Claus.
Preceding him in death were his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeffrey “Jay” Schnell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow at a later date at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Schnellville.
There will be no public visitation.

So sorry for your loss. I knew Jay and his parents, I would see him at OFS when I delivered cardboard to the factory.
