Jasper School Board seeking candidates for Jasper Library Board

The Greater Jasper Consolidated School Board will be appointing a new member to the Jasper Library Board in August.

Current School Board appointee Kent Taylor’s term will end in August. He told the library board he would not be able to continue as part of the library board due to his increased responsibilities as the Tenth Street Elementary School Principal. These responsibilities come from new guidelines set by the state.

School Board President Nancy Habig said they have two candidates in mind now but they would like to hear from interested parties in the community. “We are looking for someone that is familiar with the library and the library system. Wants to work very hard in this critical time for the library,” Habig said. “Someone willing to make tough decisions.”
