Jasper man arrested for attempted murder

Jasper police arrested a Jasper man for attempted murder overnight.
According to police, a call for help was received at about 9 p.m. Monday night from 412 E. 7th Street.
Responding police found a 28-year-old female victim — later determined to be the ex-wife of Casey A. Myer, 34, of the same address — who had been strangled and had her throat cut.
She was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment and transferred to St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Police arrested Meyer for felony charges of attempted murder and strangulation. He was booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
Dubois County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police assisted.
Prayers go to her. But I’m so sick snd tired of all the woman thinking that when a msn flips or crosses the point of no return he’s the worse P.O.S in the world, just remember it takes 2 to dance. I don’t know either of thrm he may be a vicious man but he may have just been pushed to the breaking Point. Nobody knows the actual truth of what happens behind closed doors. Such a sad thing when a human can go so low as to think that the only option is to take another’s life. Sometimes it’s an underlying mental health issue, other times a heat-of-the-moment type of thing. Generally there are signs of previous violent episodes before things totally blow up like this.
However, for someone to say “what is wrong with men these days” is completely wrong and uncalled for. There are plenty of women who can become violent too. It may not be reported as much, or talked about as much, due to embarrassment by those men on the receiving end of that violence, but it does happen. And, as a man, I abhor any violence to another, especially a significant other or past partner, but women in particular. If people (by which i mean the person who is violent) would just realize that if they get away from the situation and move on, their lives can go on. Sometimes it may even involve getting help which; of which most are too brainwashed and believe you are week if you seek out such help.
I feel sorry for anyone going through these things and give the victim and her family my prayers. God bless.
