Jasper Council to consider purchase of property near Train Depot

The Jasper Common Council will meet on Tuesday to discuss the potential purchase of a property near the Jasper Train Depot and future-German American Boulevard.

The council will discuss the Autoplex property at 123 Third Ave., owned by Coastline Properties LLC. The property has been a topic for discussion as Redevelop Old Jasper Action Coalition has moved forward with the German American Boulevard construction and the City of Jasper is in the process of creating a Downtown Master Plan that connects the downtown area to the Riverwalk, Jasper City Mill and Train Depot.

Mayor Terry Seitz and Community Development Director Darla Blazey were unavailable for comment Friday morning.

The meeting will take place in the council chambers at City Hall at noon next Tuesday.
