Property purchase and sale highlights of Huntingburg Council meeting

The Huntingburg Common Council approved purchasing the property at 405 N. Main Street to potentially consider for additional parking.

The property owner approached the city to see if they were interested and after completing the required appraisals, the council approved the purchase price of $155,250.

Additionally on Tuesday, the council approved selling the building at 317 E. Fourth Street for $105,500. The city purchased the building from the previous owner after he sued the city for encroaching on his property due to the placement of an electrical transformer on it.

  1. I feel for the people living in the house. When I moved here for my job, it took me about 7 months to find a place. Good luck to this family. Merry Christmas.

  2. Marina,
The people in the house are renters, not the owners. I know this for a fact because I am the renter now had I been the owner, I would not sell. I love this house but totally understand the need for parking since original parking was messed up.
    Delilah,
Thank you. We have found an apartment and will be ok.

  3. I see the city is rewriting history a bit on that building and the issue that caused them being sued.
