Huntingburg Police asking public to come get their stolen stuff

The Huntingburg Police Department is asking that any Dubois County resident who has had items stolen come to the department this Saturday to see those items have been recovered.

The department has recovered a large amount of property from burglaries and thefts that occurred between February and July of this year. Much of the property has not been claimed and the department is holding an open house from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow residents to identify property that may be theirs.

Huntingburg Detective Ronnie Bowman stated that residents can claim items even if they did not report them stolen as long as they can properly identify them.

According to Bowman the items are mainly items that would be found in cars.

If the items aren’t picked up they may be sold during one of the city’s annual auctions.
