Huntingburg man arrested for child molesting
Police arrested 20-year-old Elvis Adonay Lopez of 814 N. Washington St., Huntingburg, at his Jasper place of employment Tuesday evening on charges of Level 3 felony child molestation and Level 5 felony sexual misconduct with a minor.
During the course of the investigation, Gogel filed a warrant in the Dubois County Circuit Court for the arrest of Lopez and the courts granted it. However, police were unable to locate Lopez.
Then, on Tuesday at about 7:30 p.m., the Huntingburg Police Department received information that Lopez was employed at a restaurant in Jasper. With assistance from the Jasper Police Department, Lopez was detained and then transported to the Huntingburg Police Department.
Gogel questioned Lopez at the department and at about 8:30 p.m., place him under arrest for the two charges. Lopez is currently being held in the Dubois County Security Center on a $10,000 cash bond.
A child has no real perspective to say that what happened to them was okay or not. Aaliyah was with R. Kelly, when she was a minor and she didn’t realize what it did to her until she tried having a real relationship later as an adult.
Lock that champ up, he is the lowest of low in jail. Even criminals have kids.
The real heros in cases like this are the victims who are willing to stand up and put an end to it by doing the right thing and coming forward.
Not an easy task for a young person or anyone for that manner. Also a difficult task for law enforcement~ making certain that the allegations are true.
